I think a little too much emphasis is being put on Palin for her daughter's actions. Shit happens. I would say the same thing if she were a Democrat. Does not make her a bad parent necessarily, no matter what she has taught her kids. Seems her daughter made a bad choice.

Palin kind of reminds me of my ultra-right wing Catholic uncle who sent my brother and his new wife pamphlets on birth control shortly after they got married. He also sent information about the Catholic Church (My bro's wife was Southern Baptist, so they compromised and married in a Methodist church.)
Uncle's oldest, overachieving daughter went off to the University of Michigan to get her doctorate, but instead got knocked up by a steel drum playing black dude from Trinidad (really nice guy, actually). You can pardon us for giggling in private.
(The "reception" was way more funner as all the West Indians were getting stoned outside the back door of the banquet room of a cheap Ann Arbor motel, while Uncle Bob tried to keep a straight face about all of it. Knocked up cousin first got married by the justice of the peace, and later in the Episcopal Church. It was awesome.)
Karma was a bitch for Uncle Bob. It will be for Palin, too.
